Review: "As You Like It" @ Syracuse Shakespeare Festival / by Jerald Pierce

Syracuse Shakespeare Festival provides the ideal atmosphere for a summer Shakespearean love story. Surrounded by the trees lining the Thornden Park Amphitheatre, families gather to relax, eat and watch William Shakespeare's "As You Like It."

This comedy primarily follows Rosalind and Orlando. It's love at first sight. But, they are separated by circumstance as they both flee to the forest separately. There they find each other again, except Rosalind is disguised as a man and going by the name Ganymede (for reasons only Shakespeare can devise). Many side plots twist their way into Rosalind and Orlando's love story and SSF provides a scene by scene synopsis in their program to help keep track.
